Starcraft II Heart of The Swarm Launch Event
     Wed, Mar 27 2013 | 9:16A | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Blizzard has a special was of not just launching a new game but making it an experience. After being at the Heart of the Swarm event mere years ago I can say this not only stepped up the game but blew it off the map as the new Starcraft II Heart of The Swarm midnight launch was more of a festival or celebration than your standard launch event."

Posted by: STAFF
The last game I would have ever expected to see released this month on Steam was Duke Nukem 3D, but lo and behold, its here. Dubbed the Megaton Edition, this one packs in upscaled graphics, three add-on packs and soon, multiplayer. Oh, and achievements. Lets check it out, and compare it to the classic version and the HRP."

Unigine Heaven 4.0 Tested - 25 GPU CPU and Memory Scaling @ Ocaholic
     Sat, Mar 23 2013 | 7:05A | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
UNIGINE Corp. has released a new, enhanced version of their GPU intensive benchmark, Heaven 4.0. Previous versions gained massive popularity among overclockers, hardware manufacturers and press as unlike 3DMark from FutureMark, Heaven is free and 100 % GPU dependent. This new version brings new features that make this benchmark even more complete and interesting. Here we are going to see what`s new and we also benched Heaven 4.0 with a few cards to make a reference and see how it performs."

Razer Naga Hex, Goliathus League
     Thu, Mar 21 2013 | 12:03P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
"Luckily for Razer, it seems like they’ve been blessed as the official gaming peripherals partner for LoL, so today we’ll be reviewing the Razer Naga Hex and the Razer Goliathus LoL gaming peripherals. Now usually I don’t like doing branded product reviews. They’re generally just paint jobs on products that already exist (and usually stuff I’ve already reviewed), so it’s quite pointless for me to review them all over again..."

Colonial Marines Performance and IQ Review
     Thu, Mar 21 2013 | 12:01P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Today we evaluate Aliens: Colonial Marines, which uses the Unreal 3 engine with an updated renderer. Since it is a DX9 game, we expect to see faster performance on less expensive video cards like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti and AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition. We'll determine if SEGA is taking a step forward or backwards with the Alien series.

Crysis 3 Performance Test: Graphics & CPU
     Tue, Mar 19 2013 | 12:00P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
The original Crysis raised the bar for PC gaming graphics in 2007 with stunningly detailed visuals that crippled even the fastest of rigs. Looking back at our first Crysis performance article, which was based on the game's demo, the fastest GPU available at the time (the GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB) struggled to average 30fps when running at 1920x1200 with high quality settings on DirectX 10. Fast-forward to this day and Crytek has given us another opportunity to hammer some hardware with the arrival of Crysis 3. Like the second title, the third installment has been built with CryEngine 3, though that doesn't mean you should expect lousy PC features, as the engine has been updated with improved dynamic cloth and vegetation, better lighting and shadows, and plenty more.

Leave Six Strikes Alone! @ Techgage
     Mon, Mar 18 2013 | 9:53A | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
* Six Strikes is live in the US, and the Internet is full of its usual rage. Rather than jump in swinging with both fists, Brett set down his editorial pen to let some truths come out before grabbing his own pitchfork and torch. With a little more knowledge and less gut reaction, he jumps to the defense of Six Strikes as the abused pop star that he feels it is."

Mass Effect 3 Citadel: The Journey’s End @ Techgage

Mass Effect 3 has had a turbulent journey since its release – there have been a few DLCs released, but none have captured the spirit that the Mass Effect franchise has been all about. Will the new Citadel DLC bring the series back to its former glory, or are we doomed to repeat recent history?

Triple Monitor Gaming on a Budget
     Wed, Mar 13 2013 | 4:00P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Considering next-gen cards are still months away, we didn't expect to bring any more GPU reviews until the second quarter of 2013. However, we realized there was a gap in our current-gen coverage: triple-monitor gaming. In fact, it's been almost two years since we last stress tested games at resolutions of up to 7680x1600. We're going to mix things up a little this time. Instead of using each camp's ultra-pricey dual-GPU card (or the new $999 Titan), we're going to see how more affordable Crossfire and SLI setups handle triple-monitor gaming compared to today's single-GPU flagships.
