     Mon, Apr 15 2013 | 10:07P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
The Athera is a new Bluetooth keyboard from SPEEDLINK which sports high-quality scissor-key technology and comes with a new feature meaning that we can connect up to five Bluetooth devices and switch between them by using the function keys. As an extra, the keyboard can be also used as a regular desktop peripheral by connecting it on USB."

Defiance @ LanOC Reviews
     Mon, Apr 15 2013 | 5:02P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Trion Worlds is no newcomer to the MMO market. They have earned a rapport with gamers with their traditional fantasy MMORPG Rift holding strong as one of the few subscription based games still around, but Defiance is another thing entirely. When I first read about the concept for Defiance I couldnt help but be even the slightest bit skeptical. Designed to run in conjunction with an original TV series of the same name airing on the SyFy Network and set within the same larger world, changes in either the game or the show will be reflected across both mediums. Join me and the Ark Hunters to see if the game portion of this ambitious undertaking stands up."

Tesoro SHRIKE HL2 Laser Gaming Mouse Review
     Mon, Apr 15 2013 | 4:20P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
As most of you know Game of Thrones Season 3 aired 2 days ago and so after watching the first episode i still can`t figure out why game developers have still to make an RTS based on the series. Sure it would take some time for someone to actually make a good RTS based on the series but since the storyline is already done and the landscape is also ready (based on the intro map) so why not? A 3rd person RPG based on the series was released last year and we did end up playing it but that`s an experience Id rather forget all together if possible (yes it was that bad). Luckily as things are now we have quite a few single and MMO FPS (First Person Shooter) games and since we are currently spending quite a few hours per day on some of them we decided to test the SHRIKE HL2 gaming mouse designed and manufactured by a brand new player on the block called Tesoro."

Cooler Master Storm Trigger w/Green Keyswitches @ LanOC Reviews
     Tue, Apr 09 2013 | 9:33A | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Those of you who read our reviews often or know me personally know I have had a big interest in mechanical keyboards for years now. Most reviews spend time focusing on the keyboards features. When I heard that Cooler Master introduced their Storm Trigger with Cherry Green switches I had to get my hands on one. Not because of the keyboard, I already took a look at one in the past. But I was excited because everyone else sticks with the blue, brown, black, and red key switches and this time around we have a chance to check out something completely different."

Razer Ouroboros Elite Gaming Mouse @ Benchmark Reviews
     Tue, Apr 09 2013 | 9:05A | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
In 2009, Razer started working on a mouse with some ambitious goals. It would be a gaming-grade, wireless hybrid mouse. It would be ambidextrous, even adjustable - allowing the user to create that perfect fit. It would pack in the latest sensors and gaming technology, complete with a cloud-based driver solution. Three years later in late 2012, Razer finally released the Ouroboros. As soon as it was released, it quickly sold out of stock online and in stores and has since disappeared from regular channels. At Benchmark Reviews, I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Razer Ouroboros gaming mouse and take it for a spin..."

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (PC) @ HardwareHeaven.com
     Mon, Apr 08 2013 | 4:01P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (PC) @ HardwareHeaven.com Released earlier this month the first StarCraft 2 expansion, Heart of the Swarm, focuses on the Zerg race. We follow the story of Sarah Kerrigan, picking up where the plot in Wings of Liberty left off. Wing of Liberty was of course the initial release of StarCraft 2 and focused on the Terran race or more specifically, Jim Raynor and this split race approach was well known in advance of launch as Blizzard announced that the story they had to tell was so epic that it could not be contained within a single game."

Roxio Game Capture HD Pro @ LanOC Reviews
     Sun, Apr 07 2013 | 9:37A | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
When I reviewed the Aver Media Game Capture HD late last year there were a couple of things I felt were missing. The first was the ability to record HDMI gameplay footage, and the second was the ability to stream any gameplay. Roxio has sent us one of their new capture boxes. The Game Capture HD Pro claims to offer many of the same features of the Aver Media card with the added bonus of being able to do HDMI gameplay and live stream all of your gameplay footage with the click of a button. Lets take a look at the box and compare its features to that of the other."

News: Modern shooters and the atrophy of fun
     Sun, Apr 07 2013 | 9:03A | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Since the days of Doom and Quake, we`ve seen shooters take quantum leaps in graphics, writing, voice acting, and just about everything elseexcept for gameplay. Somehow, gameplay hasn`t evolved. It hasn`t gotten more fun or more engaging or more interesting. Instead, it`s atrophied into a bland rut, to the point where big-budget shooters feel just like old light-gun arcade games."

First Impressions of Trion Worlds Defiance @ Techgage
     Sat, Apr 06 2013 | 4:16P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
I`m not a sci-fi guy, and I certainly don`t need another MMO to play so whats the deal with me taking Trions just-released Defiance for a spin? Because I was sent a copy, and sometimes thats all the reason I need. Plus, I do like the premise of the game, and figured that maybe just maybe, Id be drawn in. After about five hours of play, I can definitely feel a bit of a pull."
