Enermax Triathlor FC 550W Power Supply Review @ ThinkComputers.org
     Tue, Jun 25 2013 | 11:09A | Power Supply | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Enermax is a brand whose strong product is their power supplies, especially when it comes to the high-end spectrum. Their Platimax and MAXREVO units are some of the best out there. But these units are not cheap in terms of cost. Enermax knows not everyone has a ton of cash to throw at a new power supply so they have created the Triathlor series of power supplies. There are actually the Triathlor and Triathlor FC units. The Triathlor units are lower wattage and non-modular and the Triathlor FC units are higher wattage and are modular. Today we are checking out the Triathlor FC 550W unit which is 80PLUS Bronze certified and offers quiet operation."

Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 850W Power Supply Review
     Sun, Jun 23 2013 | 9:01A | Power Supply | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Be Quiet! has taken an already great power supply in the form of a Seasonic X-series unit, and made it even better. The enhancements made to the Dark Power Pro 10 850W power supply translates to legendary silence and cutting edge performance; just like Be Quiet! claims. The custom designed SilentWings fan is virtually silent at low to mid power levels. Voltage regulation is excellent, efficiency is excellent, the DC outputs are very clean, and the Dark Power Pro 10 850W PSU comes with an excellent assortment of modular cables and connectors. Add to that the ability to select either single or multi +12V rail operation, the ability to automatically control up to four case fans, Haswell CPU deep sleep state support, and rubberized end caps for noise and vibration isolation and you have a very interesting and competent new power supply."

Antec HCG-750M 750W Power Supply Unit
     Fri, Jun 21 2013 | 9:01A | Power Supply | PermaLink

One COMPUTEX is over and another E3 has just begun so naturally things are somewhat chaotic these days with all the people going back and forth to attend both shows. Unfortunately although many manufacturers revealed quite a few impressive products during this years COMPUTEX we were unable to attend we did however managed to have some of those products delivered to us to start on their reviews before they were even unveiled in COMPUTEX so that in a way makes up for that. To be completely honest with you some of us are way more interested in this years CES since there are going to be (or at least should be) several ground breaking game titles presented there such as Chris Roberts Star Citizen/Squadron 42, Call Of Duty Ghosts, Star Wars Battlefront, Thief and Elite Dangerous by David Braben. So if any of you end up going there remember not to miss out on these amazing upcoming game titles (if you are not worry not, you can check E3 at our friends over at Gamespot ). Leaving E3 aside today we will be focusing one of the products presented in this years COMPUTEX the HCG-750M High Current Gamer Modular 750W PSU by Antec."

REVIEW: In Win Commander III 600W @ PureOverclock
     Wed, May 29 2013 | 4:27P | Power Supply | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
The In Win Commander III 600W comes with a unique military-themed design named for the famous Desert Fox moniker that started in WW2 attributed to German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel and then again resurfaced decades later during the Iraqi war in the late 1990s. While this unit isnt a behemoth like some weve seen of late, the Commander III 600W is 80PLUS Gold certified and comes with a price of $105. Seems pretty good so far, so let s take a closer look at this In Win power supply and see how it fares."

Enermax Triathlor FC 700W Power Supply Unit
     Wed, May 29 2013 | 4:20P | Power Supply | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Summer may be the most exciting season for the majority of people around the world (i prefer winter slightly more) since it represents vacation time and of course endless dives in the deep blue sea (for some people anyways) but due to the extreme heat waves it`s also without doubt the worst season when it comes to pretty much everything electronic and mechanical from TVs, refrigerators and PC hardware up to heavy industrial, car and bike engines. The Summer period is also one of the main reasons as to why we always recommend high quality and performance CPU Coolers and power supply units to people and since June is almost upon us we decided to spend a little bit more time over some of the latest power supply units to hit the market such as the Triathlor FC 700W by Enermax."

Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M PSU Review @ Hi Tech Legion
     Tue, May 21 2013 | 9:17A | Power Supply | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
The Thermaltake Smart-M 750 Watt SP-750M PSU is a semi-modular power supply. The hard wired cables for the Thermaltake SP-750M include the 24 Pin ATX and 4+4 Pin CPU connector. Modular connectors are provided for the four PCI-E (6+2 pin), nine SATA, six 4-pin Molex, and one 4-pin Molex to FDD converter. All of the modular cables are flat for easy routing and the hard wired cables are sleeved in mesh to keep them neat. The single +12V rail is used in the SP-750M and produces up to 62A of power. The PSU`s 80 Plus Bronze rating means that the PSU meets the standard of running with a minimum of 82% efficiency. Cooling is provided by a 140mm variable speed fan to ensure that the PSU maintains silence and the proper temperature. Other features include a MTBF of over 100,000 hours, a five year warranty, and a full suite of power protection circuits.///"

Enermax TriAthlor 550W Power Supply Review
     Sun, May 19 2013 | 9:11A | Power Supply | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
The Enermax TriAthlor 550W power supply delivers good voltage regulation with clean DC outputs (low AC ripple) and is housed in a compact chassis that is only 140mm (5.5) deep. The TriAthlor 550W power supply is eco-friendly by meeting the new ErP Lot 6 standby efficiency criteria but achieves only 80Plus Bronze level efficiency under load. Under light to medium loads the power supply is quiet, but at the higher loads fan noise becomes noticeable."
