The world of video games is changing. You may have noticed in recent years that your living room is no longer simply populated with a single console and a couple of wired controllers. You have drum sets, balance boards, steering wheels, and plastic guitars littered all over the place. There has to be an easier way to organize all this gear.

Thermonuclear Products from CES 2011 - put your sunglasses on...
     Mon, Jan 10 2011 | 4:08P | Tradeshows / Events | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
This year's Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas Nevada, offered some of the most exciting product announcements we've seen in any previous CES show thus far. The past three years' CES shows have been rather snoozy, to be honest, with the economy taking its toll on product design investment and innovation. However, this year's CES showed great promise of not only emerging technologies and product innovations but with the sheer number of announcements and the notable increase in attendance (as well as city traffic, which was a nightmare), it was all a very encouraging sign of the health of our nation's economy and that we're actually finally on the up-tick.

Regardless, we took time here to wrap-up our show favorites from the major players, in this Hottest Products of CES 2011 showcase. These were the stand-outs in our opinion, in a sea of technology deep and wide enough to make any self-respecting geek grin from ear to ear.

CES 2011 Coverage
     Mon, Jan 10 2011 | 3:43P | Tradeshows / Events | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
"The most interesting thing we saw today was an EXCLUSIVE LOOK at a product that is targeted squarely at the enthusiast community — the Hammerhead memory modules and water cooling system. The Hammerhead modules come with the same cooling fins as the Ridgeback line as the standard cooling option. For those who would like to get a little more extreme with their cooling, you can purchase the modules with the liquid cooling solution. What looks like just a flat copper plate is a little bit more."

CES 2011 article showing Sapphire's upcoming Fusion APU
     Mon, Jan 10 2011 | 2:43P | Tradeshows / Events | PermaLink

Considering Sapphire is an AMD-centric company, they didn’t have that much new to display that we can discuss without breaking NDA. With that being said, the coming months should some interesting graphics cards from them and the acquisition of most of EVGA’s motherboard development team means major moves on that side of things as well.
