ECS’
New RS485M-M Socket
AM2 Motherboard Brings Leading Integrated Graphics Solution to Market
All
the power you need onboard for great all-round performance
Milton
Keynes, England,
23rd May
2006 –
Elitegroup Computer Systems, Inc. (ECS), a leading motherboard manufacturer,
has today announced the release of its new RS485M-M motherboard with onboard
Radeon Xpress 1100 chipset. Supporting the new socket AM2 CPUs, it delivers high
quality 3D graphics and onboard VGA support using the powerful ATI Radeon Xpress
1100 integrated graphics chipset. So powerful in fact, that an extra graphics
card is not necessary. When coupled with the socket AM2 processors, the RS485M-M
motherboard can outperform most other, more expensive systems and is designed
for those wanting performance along with the latest 3D graphic solution without
having to pay for an additional high-end graphics card. The RS485M-M is also one
of the first Windows Vista™ ready integrated solutions, which means users can
take full advantage of the graphically-rich user interface that Windows Vista
offers.
The
RS485M-M supports versions of the AMD Athlon™ FX, Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core and
Athlon™ 64 CPUs (all of which are
socket AM2) as well as the new AM2 Energy Efficient microprocessors. AMD’s new
lineup of low power processors provides 35W and 65W versions of AM2 processors
for increased energy savings. Unlike socket 939 and 754 motherboards, the
RS485M-M supports dual channel DDR2-533, 667 and 800 SDRAM memory, which
increases overall performance.
The
RS485M-M utilises ATI’s new SB460 Southbridge to support 2 x Ultra DMA133/100/66
devices, 4 x SATA devices and HD Audio functions which exceeds AMD
Live!TM digital media platform requirements. With AMD
Live!TM, it is easy to create and mass distribute digital video and
audio media, all within the confines of your home.
This
new RS485M-M motherboard is a higher-clocked version of the ECS’ RS482-M, with
many of the same great features but with a higher-performing integrated graphics
solution. The trend for the next generation of games will demand exceptional
performance to provide realistic and amazing 3D graphics, which the RS485M-M
guarantees. For customers looking for a cost-effective solution without
compromising on performance, the RS485M-M definitely provides excellent value
for money.
Other
integrated features include fully implemented Intel® Memory Pipeline Technology
to support DDR2 memory in dual channel mode, 1 x PCI-E x 16 slot, 1 x PCI-E x 1
slot, onboard VGA for Windows VISTA performance, RAID0, RAID1 to allow for
efficient and expandable storage, 8 x USB 2.0, 4 x Serial ATA support for the
fastest file transfer rate, high-definition 6-channel ALC655 audio, 8100C
10/100M LAN controller for network reliability, and a BIOS that supports a wide
range of overclocking options.
To
meet stringent RoHS directives for “green” computer components, ECS motherboards
use strict environmentally friendly materials while delivering astounding
performance.
Availability
The
RS485M-M will be available at the beginning of June 2006 at an estimated price
of £44 excluding VAT.
