After the March CeBIT exhibition in Hanover, Germany, at which SiS introduced
its new series of PCI Express chipsets, SiS will unveil yet another new line of
chipsets at this year’s Computex Taipei. Chipsets including the SiS656FX,
SiS656, SiS756, SiS761GX, SiS649FX, SiS649, SiS741CX Northbridge chips and
SiS966, SiS966L Southbridge chips will be on display. Also certain attract
significant attention will be the demonstration of a wide range of operating
platforms utilizing advanced SiS chipsets, a testament to SiS' outstanding
achievements and steadfast commitment to R&D.
The SiS exhibition at this year’s Computex will be divided into three
sections: two dynamic exhibition zones focusing on desktop platforms and one
static exhibition zone displaying motherboards, embedded systems and wireless
networking products based on SiS solutions. The desktop computer section will
consist of four flagship products dynamically presenting SiS chipsets supporting
the latest trends in the industry for Intel and AMD platforms, including Dual
Core CPU technology, the advanced PCI Express graphics specification, the latest
DDR2 memory standard, WLAN wireless and 64-bit operating systems. The notebook
computer section will display SiS-based notebook products, and the static
exhibition zones will include embedded systems motherboards, a PC motherboard
wall and wireless networking products.
The dynamic flagship products on display will include the SiS656FX/966
chipset for the Intel® Pentium® 4; the SiS756/965 chipset and SiS163 WLAN chip
combination for the AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 platform; the SiS761GX/966 chipset for the
AMD Athlon™ 64 FX; and the embedded system SiS741CX chip with the AMD Geode™ NX
CPU combination. The embedded system is the result of a hugely successful
cooperative development project between SiS and AMD. The platform was widely
praised when it was unveiled at CeBIT in Hanover.
The notebook computer exhibition zone will be represented by the SiS656 and
SiSM661 chipsets for the Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 and Intel® Pentium® M CPUs, as
well as the SiS756, SiS760 and SiS760GX chipsets for the AMD Turion™ 64
platform. Notebook computers built on SiS chipsets will include products based
on the SiS656 chipset from Clevo, the SiS M661 chipset from Acer, SiS756 from
Asus, SiS760 from Fujitsu-Siemens, and SiS760GX from Asus.
At the static exhibition zone, a motherboard wall will display the full line
of motherboards from the world’s most widely recognized motherboard brands
including ECS, Foxconn/WinFast, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, AOpen, ASRock and FSC, all
built on SiS chipsets such as the SiS656, SiS649, SiS756, SiS755, SiS761GX,
SiS760 and SiS760GX. The wide range of motherboards from different suppliers
shows customers’ commitment to SiS products.
The embedded systems exhibition zone will focus on the combination of the
SiS741CX chip and the AMD Geode™ NX CPU. This new embedded platform has already
been adopted by a number of industrial computer and thin client manufacturers,
and embedded system motherboards from Ibase and Commel will be on display to
explain SiS’s outstanding success in embedded systems development.
The wireless networking exhibition zone will concentrate on SiS’s
achievements in the wireless field, and will include products from Cameo, Global
Sun, CC&C, TP-Link, KingNet, Qcom, Astarte, Alpha Network, Cybertan, Surecom
and Fiwin. A wide variety of 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g products designed on the
SiS163/163U MAC/BB wireless chips will be on display, from USB Dongles to
Modules, Mini PCI and CF products.
In addition to the technology products on display, the SiS exhibition zones
will also be lit up by exciting showgirl performances, sure to attract even
And in addition to the main exhibition area at the Taipei World Trade Center,
