SiS661 Series chipset adopted by leading board maker--Gigabyte

Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) today announced the integrated chipsets, SiS661FX and SiS661GX both supporting Pentium® 4 dual-core platform, have been adopted by Gigabyte’s GA-8S661FXM-775 and GA-8S661GXM-775 motherboards, separately. These new-released motherboards have passed the Intel dual-core validation and are expected to be pretty hot in the mainstream market.

Combining with the power of SiS661FX/964 chipset which provides fully support to dual-core processor, GA-8S661FXM-775 motherboard greatly enhances the performance of the latest LGA775 65nm/90nm process Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with FSB800MHz and Hyper-Threading Technology. Also, SiS 661GX/964 chipset empowers GA-8S661GXM-775 motherboard to advance the performance of LGA775 90nm process Intel® dual-core Pentium® 4 processor with FSB533MHz. Both GA-8S661FXM-775 and GA-8S661GXM-775 support DDR400 memory, AGP8X interface, and SiS’ proprietary HyperStreaming™ Technology. SiS’ MirageTM graphics engine, deserve to mention, provides highly-performed visual experience for multimedia devices so that enables consumers completely enjoy the perfect quality of image.

SiS964 Southbridge chip combining with both SiS661FX and SiS661GX Northbridge chip can perfectly release the efficiency of chipsets. With support of SiS964 Southbridge chip, GA-8S661FXM-775 and GA-8S661GXM-775 motherboards integrate the features of 8 USB 2.0 ports providing up to 480Mb/s transmission for high speed connectivity, supporting 6-channel AC’97 audio for high quality of sound effect, 10/100Mb Ethernet controller, and Serial-ATA interface with RAID 0, 1 function to provide up to 150MB/s data transmission while also enhance the stability of information storage.
