ASUS C90S Now Available Through Specialty System Builders

-- Desktop-level performance and flexible customization make ASUS C90S the ideal desktop replacement --

PCSTATS.comASUS®, the worldwide leader in 3C total solutions, today announced its innovative C90S barebone notebook is now available through select system builders in North America as fully configurable desktop replacements. With support for current Intel® Core®2 Duo desktop processors, the latest optical drives, and the widest range of interchangeable mobile graphics solutions, the C90S maximizes "do it yourself" (DIY) flexibility and opens performance overclocking on a level once reserved to desktop systems.

"A mobile platform designed to deliver performance and configuration flexibility of a desktop machine offers the best of both worlds. We are excited about our partnership with Velocity Micro, CyberPower and iBuyPower, and believe our end consumers will benefit from the broader distribution," said Donald Leung, Product Manager at ASUS Computer International. "Enthusiasts now have a wider range of product to choose from. Whether they want to build the notebook themselves or commission one of the trusted system builders, they know they have a solid product they can rely on," commented Leung.

Upgrade Your Possibilities
With an upgradeable notebook platform, buyers no longer have to suffer "buyer's remorse" once newer technology arrives. A single back panel separates the DIY user from all major components, easing modifications. The C90S' internal and external SATA connectors ensure that future storage options and speeds can grow with the user's needs. To drive the latest DirectX®10 Gaming and PureVideo™ supported multimedia, the ASUS C90S supports NVIDIA® 8600M GS 256 MB DDR2 and 8600M GT 512MB DDR2. An older GeForce® 7700 256 MB DDR2 option is also available, offering the most suitable graphics purchase options at the user's discretion. Other multimedia add-ons include an analog TV Tuner, DVD, HD-DVD, and Blu-ray drives, effectively transforming the C90S into a user-defined mobile entertainment center.

Overclocking Made Possible on a Notebook Computer
The ASUS C90S supports overclocked Intel Core 2 Duo processors on the Intel 945G chipset, up to and including X6800 Core 2 Extreme. Utilizing exclusive TurboGear technology to boost front side bus, CPU and memory, the C90S intuitively overclocks up to 20% at the touch of a button. Users can now leverage instantaneous performance enhancements without entering BIOS or interrupting tasks with reboots.

Outstanding Standard Features
The powerful, flexible C90S fits within a classy 15.4" notebook enclosure, and weights 6.8 lbs. The top lid houses a 2.0 Megapixel 240 degree swivel webcam allows for convenient snapshots and video conferencing jobs. An onboard fingerprint scanner protects sensitive data from hackers while expediting the log-in process. The C90S' glossy 15.4" widescreen LCD presents bright, crisp WSXGA+ (1680x1050) resolution; while it's included HDMI output simplifies your multimedia connection through a single cable straight to your favorite HDTV. The C90S also includes a one year warranty, which may be upgraded up to cover a total of 3 years.
