FIC's 1stMainboard AZ11 honored with prestigious `Best of Computex 2000' Award

Taipei, June 7, 2000- FIC's first Socket A motherboard for the new AMD AthlonT and DuronT processors, the 1stMainboard AZ11, was today honored with the prestigious Best of COMPUTEX 2000 Award, in the motherboard category. These merits of excellence, given in different categories, are awarded to manufacturers who have delivered high quality and innovative products to the market. The AZ11 beat off stiff competition in its category from Gigabyte, MSI, Aopen and Elitegroup to claim the much sought after prize.

The panel of judges from Nikkei Byte and Win PC magazines selected the AZ11 on the basis of its support for the new-age AMD processors at speeds of 1GHz and beyond, and more importantly its user friendly `human' features. One such feature is ClockometerT, a user-friendly Windows GUI that allows users to effortlessly adjust the front side bus settings and overclock the motherboard for maximum performance.

Another feature that impressed the judges was Audio Alert IIT, an innovative multi language and reflashable voice warning technology that identifies any installation problems, such as an incorrectly installed CPU, memory or VGA. Furthermore, Audio Alert II also allows users to record their own boot-up greeting, via an onboard IC. Audio Alert II and Clockometer form part of NOVUS, an FIC unique range of features that bring functionality and ease of use to the end-user, and fulfil the FIC motto of "Bringing Technology to Life."

Throughout the Computex 2000 show, visitors have been flocking to the FIC booth to take a look at a 1GHz system based around the award winning AZ11 motherboard with a 1GHz Athlon processor. The system runs best with Microsoft Windowsr 2000 professional, and provides the ideal platform for streaming video and audio, digital imaging, and intense gaming. Furthermore, if running Windowsr 2000 Professional, the 1GHz Athlon system can function as a high-end server platform.
