VIA implements support for upcoming Intel® Pentium® III "Tualatin" processor across its full range of industry-leading Socket 370 chipsets
Will demonstrate complete line of discrete and integrated VIA Apollo Pro266T, VIA Apollo Pro133T, VIA ProSavage(tm) PL133T, and VIA Apollo PLE133T DDR and PC133 solutions at Computex Taipei 2001
Taipei, Taiwan, 30 May 2001 - VIA Technologies, Inc today unveiled a comprehensive line of chipsets supporting the upcoming version of the Intel®
Pentium® III processor, codenamed "Tualatin".
Combining support for DDR SDRAM with its high-bandwidth V-Link bus architecture, the VIA Apollo Pro266T provides the highest performance solution for single and dual processor workstations and servers featuring
the Intel® Pentium® III "Tualatin" processor, while the VIA Apollo Pro133T builds on the proven reliability and performance of the industry's first PC133 chipset, the VIA Apollo Pro133A. The range is completed by the highly
integrated VIA Apollo PLE133T and VIA ProSavage(tm) PL133T chipsets targeted at the Value PC segment. To ensure that OEMs and System Integrators have
full flexibility in configuring their motherboards to meet a full spectrum of price points, all the chipsets are also backwards compatible with existing Intel® Pentium® III, Intel® Celeron(tm), and VIA C3(tm) processors.
"The implementation of Tualatin support across our complete range of Socket 370 chipsets shows our commitment to further extending the capabilities and
longevity of this industry standard platform," commented Richard Brown, Director of Marketing, VIA Technologies, Inc.
