WinBench 99 is a subsystem-level benchmark that measures the performance of a PC's graphics, disk, and video subsystems in a Windows environment. WinBench 99's tests can run on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows Me systems.

MSI 850 Pro5 Score Ranking
1. Business Disk - 100 MHz FSB 8190
1a. Business Disk - 112 MHz FSB 8220
2. High-End Disk - 100 MHz FSB 29000
2a. High-End Disk - 112 MHz FSB 29000
3. Business Graphics - 100 MHz FSB 589
3a. Business Graphics - 112 MHz FSB 670
4. High-End Graphics - 100 MHz FSB 981
4a. High-End Graphics - 112 MHz FSB 1120

Here we see the 850 Pro 5 do very well in the disk benchmarks, overclocking doesn't really slow things down like on most other motherboards. The graphics portion of Winbench 99 though paints another story since the performance here isn't very good. Does this mean the MSI 850 Pro 5 will do poorly in 3D benchmarks?

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system and individual components. The numbers taken though are again, purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

Here the 850 Pro5 with a 2 GHz Pentium 4 do better then the reference systems. When overclocked everything just gets sweeter.
