Final impressions

While there was never a doubt in our mind about the intended users of the Ramcheck, it was refreshing to see that its operation was not overly complex and unwieldy. The unit operated as it was intended to and there were really no problems experienced with all the testing and retesting we were able to throw at it.

Ultimately, the capabilities of the Ramcheck will make it ideal for an OEM or repair department if they are dealing with large amounts of memory. Given the price point we are talking about for this industrial pieces of test equipment a business looking to acquire it would have to be able to justify the costs. This is easy to do if the amount of memory being dealt with is significantly large enough. For a smaller enterprise, it is incredibly invaluable to be able to say this memory or that memory is physically bust, but not necessarily feasible with a small budget. However, when we consider where comparable memory testers are priced, and take into consideration the portability and ease of use of the Ramcheck thing begin to look a bit more bright for even small companies.

Ultimately, we can only show you a little bit of the Ramcheck in this review, and that is what we have done. The online PDF manual for the unit goes into great detail about the many tests the unit performs, what they mean, and how they can be used to identify and even repair faulty memory. I recommend heading on over to Innoventions website if you are serious about getting a bit more detail on these aspects.

With computer test equipment of this type our recommendations have to be weighed with your specific needs. The Ramcheck is an mid-level memory tester that is excellent for a variety of testing situations, but weather or not it is right for you is something you have to weigh carefully. We have presented a pretty broad view of the features, software and test results so that you have a better understanding of how the Ramcheck Advanced memory tester can be put to use in your test lab, or computer service center.

UPDATE Oct 2018: RAMCHECK has released adapters for 288-pin DDR4 memory, specifically for the RAMCHECK LX model tester. However, DDR4 cannot be supported on the older RAMCHECK model PCSTATS reviewed in this article, as its design is too old (circa 2000).
