Benchmarks: SiSoft Sandra 2003, PCMark2002

Sisoft Sandra 2002 Pro Source: Sandra

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system and individual components. The numbers taken though are again, purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance. Higher numbers represent better performance.

Processors Score

Multimedia Benchmark

1a. Integer SSE - AthlonXP 3000+ (KT400) 11989 it/s
1b. Integer SSE - AthlonXP 3000+ (nForce2) 12077 it/s
1c. Integer SSE - AthlonXP 3000+ oc'ed (nForce2) 13672 it/s
2a. Floating-Point SSE - AthlonXP 3000+ (KT400) 12619 it/s
2b.

Floating-Point SSE - AthlonXP 3000+ (nForce2)

12837 it/s
2c. Floating-Point SSE - AthlonXP 3000+ oc'ed (nForce2) 14562 it/s

CPU Benchmark

3a. Dhrystone ALU - AthlonXP 3000+ (KT400) 8177 MIPS
3b. Dhrystone ALU - AthlonXP 3000+ (nForce2) 6680 MIPS
3c. Dhrystone ALU - AthlonXP 3000+ oc'ed (nForce2) 9137 MIPS
4a. Whetstone FPU - AthlonXP 3000+ (KT400) 2999 MFLOPS
4b. Whetstone FPU - AthlonXP 3000+ (nForce2) 3315 MFLOPS
4c. Whetstone FPU - AthlonXP 3000+ oc'ed (nForce2) 3718 MFLOPS

Memory Benchmark

5a. Integer ALU - AthlonXP 3000+ (KT400) 2446 MB/s
5b. Integer ALU - AthlonXP 3000+ (nForce2) 2606 MB/s
5c. Integer ALU - AthlonXP 3000+ oc'ed (nForce2) 2875 MB/s
6a. Float FPU - AthlonXP 3000+ (KT400) 2262 MB/s
6b Float FPU - AthlonXP 3000+ (nForce2) 2484 MB/s
6c. Float FPU - AthlonXP 3000+ oc'ed (nForce2) 2686 MB/s

Here we see that the AthlonXP 3000+ prefers the nForce2 more then the VIA KT400. Everything at stock speeds on the nForce2 is higher.

PCMark 2002 Source: MadOnion

PCMark is a new benchmark from our pals at MadOnion which a whole system benchmark. It can be used on desktop PC's, Laptops and even Workstations and tests everyday computing from home to office usage. PCMark specifically stresses the CPU, memory subsystem, graphics subsystem, hard drives, WindowsXP GUI (if WinXP is used), video performance and even laptop batteries.

PCMark2002 Benchmark Results
Processor PCMarks Ranking
1. Pentium 4 2.8 GHz 6971
2. AthlonXP 3000+ (KT400) 6478
3. AthlonXP 3000+ (nForce2) 6682
4. AthlonXP 3000+ oc'ed (nForce2) 7585

The only reason why the Pentium 4 2.8 GHz scores higher processor marks at stock speeds is because it supports SSE2 technology. Still, the AthlonXP 3000+ does very well for itself and overclocked gets a very respectable score.
