We all know how fast the nForce2/Radeon 9700 Pro is, and for this review it was not used. Our tests with the Epox 8RGA+ are based entirely on the use of the integrated GeForce4 MX GPU.

SysMark2002 is more of an extension of SysMark2001 rather then a whole new benchmark. The applications used during testing have been updated and most importantly for AMD users, the new SysMark2002 uses the Windows Media Encoder 7.1 which supports the AthlonXP's SSE instructions.

Internet Content (FSB/Memory) Sysmarks Ranking
1. 8RDA+ - 166/333 325
2. 8RGA+ - 166/333 317
3. AK79G MAX - 166/333 327

3. AK79G MAX - 166/333 189
4. AK79G MAX - 185/370 195

The stock speed performance of the AOpen AK79G MAX is the pretty much the same as the Epox 8RGA+. Overclocking does boost overall office performance quite a bit but please keep in mind, the CPU is running much faster as well.

Content Creation Winstone 2002 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when running top, Windows-based, 32-bit, content creation applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, or Windows XP.

Business Winstone 2002 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when running today's top-selling Windows-based 32-bit applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000 (SP6 or later), Windows Me, or Windows XP. Business Winstone doesn't mimic what these packages do; it runs real applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC takes to complete those activities to produce its performance scores.

3. AK79G MAX - 166/333 43.8

Things look a bit different with Winstone 2002 based benchmarks, the AOpen AK79 MAX lags behind both Epox boards.
