AOpen AX4C Max i875P Motherboard Review

AOpen AX4C Max i875P Motherboard Review - PCSTATS
Abstract: Cast aside the i850E chipset and RDRAM which have gone the way of the dodo, and the new king of the hill is clearly Intel's i875P chipset a.k.a. "Canterwood."

* - The Pentium 4 2.8 GHz uses a 133 MHz FSB and was run on an i845PE and E7205 motherboard for performance reference.

** - HyperThreading was enabled and running for all the tests.

Note - We were not able to get SysMark2002 to complete a full benchmark run. We're not really sure what was causing this but it just didn't work so those results are omitted.

Content Creation Winstone 2002 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when running top, Windows-based, 32-bit, content creation applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, or Windows XP.

Business Winstone 2002 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when running today's top-selling Windows-based 32-bit applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000 (SP6 or later), Windows Me, or Windows XP. Business Winstone doesn't mimic what these packages do; it runs real applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC takes to complete those activities to produce its performance scores.

Winstone 2002 Benchmark Results
Content Creation (FSB/Memory) Score Ranking
1. AthlonXP 3000+/nForce2 IGP (166/333) 47.2
2. Pentium 4 2.8 GHz/i845PE (133/333) 45.1
3. Pentium 4 2.8 GHz/E7205 (133/133) 45.5
4. Pentium 4 3.0C/AOpen i865PE (200/400) 47.8

Business Winstone (FSB/Memory)

1 AthlonXP 3000+/nForce2 IGP (166/333) 33.2
2. Pentium 4 2.8 GHz/i845PE (133/333) 29.7
3. Pentium 4 2.8 GHz/E7205 (133/133) 31.4
4. Pentium 4 3.0C/AOpen i865PE (200/400) 33.7
5. Pentium 4 3.0C/Albatron i865PE (200/400) 33.5
6. Pentium 4 3.0C/AOpen i875P (200/400) 34.7
7. Pentium 4 3.0C/AOpen i875P (217/434)

36.5

Here in the Winstone 2002 benchmarks we see that at stocks speeds the AOpen i875P performs slightly higher then the two i865PE motherboards. Then again that's expected as the i875P is more expensive then the i865PE.
