AOpen AK79D-400 Max Motherboard Review

AOpen AK79D-400 Max Motherboard Review - PCSTATS

Benchmarks: Winbench 99, SiSoft Sandra 2003

Winbench 99 V1.2 Source: e-Testinglabs.com

WinBench 99 is a subsystem-level benchmark that measures the performance of a PC's graphics, disk, and video subsystems in a Windows environment. WinBench 99's tests can run on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows Me systems.

AOpen AK79D-400 Max Score Ranking
1. Business Disk - 166/333 9460
1a. Business Disk - 223/446 9440
2. High-End Disk - 166/333 35600
2a. High-End Disk - 223/446 35500
3. Business Graphics - 166/333 1140
3a. Business Graphics - 223/446 1150
4. High-End Graphics - 166/333 2060
4a. High-End Graphics - 223/446 2190

HDD performance stays about the same despite having the FSB speed being quite a bit faster when overclocked. Graphics gets a nice boost when overclocked.

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system and individual components. The numbers taken though are again, purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

CPU Benchmark (FSB)

3. Dhrystone SSE - 166/333 8082 MIPS
3a. Dhrystone SSE - 223/446 7904 MIPS
4. Whetstone SSE - 166/333

3282 MFLOPS

4a. Whetstone SSE - 223/446 3194 MFLOPS

Memory Benchmark (FSB)

5. Integer SSE - 166/333 2566 MB/s
5a. Integer SSE - 223/446 3309 MB/s
6. Float SSE - 166/333 2455 MB/s
6a. Float SSE - 223/446 3068 MB/s

It shouldn't be surprising that the overclocked system scores lower in both Multimedia and CPU because the processor is clocked lower. Bandwidth is quite a bit higher when overclocked.
