Unreal Tournament 2003

Source: Epic

Unreal Tournament 2003 is the sequel to 1999's multiple 'Game of the Year' award winner. It uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology - where graphics, sound and gameplay are taken beyond the bleeding edge. Unreal Tournament 2003 employs the use of Vertex as well as Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a DirectX 8 videocard to get the most out of the game.

UT2003 backs up what Quake III Arena says; a bigger boost for the Intel system.

Very cool, very fast, very colourful!

What can I say about Corsair that I haven't said a million times before; there's a good reason why so many enthusiasts hold Corsair in such high regard... Corsair consistently delivers the goods. True, Corsair's products are a little more expensive than the average, but when has the best ever been cheap?

With the new Pro Series of memory modules Corsair has set the bar higher yet again. Corsair were the first to adopt heat spreaders as standard equipment, and now everyone uses them. How soon will it be before the competition has LED "tachometers" on their memory to?

Service is an oft overlooked aspect of computer hardware purchases, but when something goes awry its reassuring to know Corsair has a service department that actually takes care of their customers. In terms of performance I'd say the TwinX1024-4000Pro dual channel DDR kit (two CMS512-4000Pro modules) did very well.

The Intel test system was able to hit a nice 260 MHz FSB with 2.8V while maintaining 3-4-4-8 timings. On the other hand, the AMD test system did not do quite as well, but it was still able to hit 225 MHz FSB with more agressive timings of 2-3-3-6. If I were an AMD user I'd try and get my hands on something else that can handle tighter timings like Corsair's XMS3500 CAS2 (which did 230 MHz FSB on the KX18D-Pro II with 2-2-2-5 timings).

If you've got a red hot Intel system on a i865PE Springdale or i875P Canterwood chipset I'm sure you'll find the Corsair CMS512-4000Pro modules have been made just for you. If you have a case window you'll be able to appreciate the flashing LEDs as you computer tackles the load. Bottom line, the TwinX1024-4000Pro dual channel DDR kit contains some hella-fast, and hella-cool DDR!
