Benchmarks: PCMark2002, 3DMark2001SE

PCMark 2002 Source: FutureMark

PCMark can be used on desktop PC's, Laptops and even Workstations and tests everyday computing from home to office usage. PCMark specifically stresses the CPU, memory subsystem, graphics subsystem, hard drives, WindowsXP GUI (if WinXP is used), video performance and even laptop batteries.

PCMark2002 Benchmark Results
Processor PCMarks Ranking
1. Pentium 4 3.0C/Asus i875P (200/400) 7534
2. Pentium 4 3.0C/Epox i875P (200/400) 7518
3. Pentium 4 3.0C/Abit i865PE (200/400) 7453
4. Pentium 4 3.0C/Epox i865PE (200/400) 7450
5. Pentium 4 3.0C/SiS 655FX (200/400) 7355

1 Pentium 4 3.0C/Asus i875P (200/400) 9230
2. Pentium 4 3.0C/Epox i875P (200/400) 9166
3. Pentium 4 3.0C/Abit i865PE (200/400) 8853
4. Pentium 4 3.0C/Epox i865PE (200/400) 8739
5. Pentium 4 3.0C/SiS 655FX (200/400) 9560

The processor score is about right since the processor is clocked at the same speed for all motherboards, but that still leaves the SiS655FX in the rear.

We're very impressed to see that the SiS 655FX score higher than the i875P based motherboards in PCMark's Memory benchmark. SiS' memory controller is definitely very powerful!

3DMark2001 SE Source: FutureMark

By combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, it continues to provide good overall system benchmarks. 3DMark2001 SE has been created in cooperation with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using real-world gaming technology to test a system's true performance abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests using Ipion real-time physics. Higher 3DMark scores denote better performance.

3DMark2001 SE Benchmark Results
Processor 3DMarks Ranking
1. Pentium 4 3.0C/Asus i875P (200/400) 17130
2. Pentium 4 3.0C/Epox i875P (200/400) 17136
3. Pentium 4 3.0C/Abit i865PE (200/400) 16956
4. Pentium 4 3.0C/Epox i865PE (200/400) 16952
5. Pentium 4 3.0C/SiS 655FX (200/400) 17027

3D performance has also been a place where non-Intel chipsets performed poorly in the past. The SiS 655FX is clearly very fast, as it scores 17021 3DMarks.
