combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, it continues to provide
good overall system benchmarks. 3DMark2001SE has been created in cooperation
with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide a reliable
set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using
real-world gaming technology to test a
system's true performance abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders,
Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping,
support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests
using Ipion real-time physics.
numbers denote better performance.
At stock speeds
the Asus A9800XT/TVD/256 scores very well in 3DMark2001. Overclock it and
we're almost able to hit 20k with the rest of the system stock!
CodeCretures requires a fully compatible DirectX 8
videocard with preferably 128 MB of RAM to store textures. Codecreatures
utilizes vertex as well as pixel shaders to run their tests.
CodeCreatures seems to like the nVIDIA cards a bit better,
but the A9800XT/TVD/256 still performs very well for itself here. It runs the
same speed as the reference ATi Radeon 9800XT.
resolutions turned up all cards begin to slow down but the Asus A9800XT/TVD/256
still battles it out for the overall performance crown.
