accurate diagnostic tool, designed for DirectX9.0, provides you with all the
information you need to make informed hardware assessments. Havok Total
real-time physics library from Havok - these routines are used to accurately
model the movements of objects due to forces, etc. FMOD sound library from
Firelight Technologies - these are used for the various sound effects and
routines used in the tests. Graphics adapter analysis software from Powerstrip
of Entech Taiwan - this is used to correctly determine the speeds of the
graphics processing and video memory chips, plus supply additional hardware
information. Higher 3DMark03 scores denote better performance.

when FutureMark released its 3DMark03 synthetic benchmark, nVidia was quick to
undermine the metric's viability as a legitimate measure of graphics
performance. During the course of the NV3x architecture's lifespan, nVidia has
consistently followed ATI with regard to 3DMark03 performance.
nVidia is back in FutureMark's camp, touting 3DMark03 performance at a recent
press event to promote its GeForce 6800. Indeed, it isn't hard to see why since
the GeForce 6800 Ultra does significantly better than its predecessor, nearly
doubling its score. Most notably, performance in the second and third game tests
jumps, while both the single and multi-texture fill rates double.
GeForce 6800 Ultra claims an extremely narrow victory compared to ATI's new
flagship, the X800 XT. The Radeon 9800 XT assumes its third-place spot, and the
GeForce FX 5950 Ultra brings up the rear.
