Benchmarks: Windbench 99, BatteryMark and Sandra

Winbench 99 Source: Zdnet

WinBench 99 is a subsystem-level benchmark that measures the performance of a PC's graphics, disk, and video subsystems in a Windows environment. WinBench 99's tests can run on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP systems.

High-End Disk WinMark 12800
Business Graphics WinMark 303
High-End Graphics WinMark 909

Some decent results here. The Sony VAIO VGN-T140P does well in the business disk test. The graphics results are decent considering the weak video processor.

BatteryMark 4.0.1 Source: ZDNet

BatteryMark 4.0.1 tests the lifespan of a laptop's battery by cycling through a battery of tests designed to stress the processor, disk and graphics subsystems. The benchmark indicates, in hours, minutes and seconds, how long a laptop's battery can be expected to last with moderate to intense usage at full brightness.

Sony VAIO VGN-T140P 233

The Sony VAIO VGN-T140P managed a decent 233 minutes in our battery life test, just shy of four hours. This translates to good news for those of you who want to watch that Lord of the Rings extended edition on the road.

SiSoft Sandra 2004 Source: Sandra

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system and individual components. The numbers taken though are again, purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance. Higher numbers represent better performance.

Good results here from the powerful little Pentium M ultra-low voltage processor inside this Sony laptop. The new Dothan processors do a lot with a little, and this benchmark shows it.
