Unreal Tournament 2004

Source: Epic

Unreal Tournament 2004 is the sequel to the highly popular UT2003 and uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology. Unreal Tournament 2004 employs the use of Vertex and Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a DirectX 9 videocard if you plan to play competitively.

UT 2004 likes memory bandwidth and it shows in the results of this benchmark. The 661FM3-V is considerably off the pace here, though it does keep up well with the ECS RS-400-A chipset entry which sports dual-channel memory. The onboard video turns in respectable scores again.

Doom 3

Source: id Software

Doom 3 is the most advanced game to date. it takes advantage of the latest videocard technology and pushes the processing power of the CPU to its absolute limit. At its highest setting, Ultra quality, texture sizes pass the 500MB mark which means even tomorrow's videocards will have a hard time running everything. The frame rates in the game itself are locked at 60 fps so anything above that point is wasted. Each test is run three times with the third run being recorded.

MSI 661FM3-V (SIS 661FX 200/400 integrated SIS graphics) 5.2

Our final and most demanding gaming benchmark sees the 661FM3-V bringing up the rear again. To keep harping on the same theme, the single-channel memory controller is probably to blame. Still, the results weren't too far off the pace and any modern 3D game would be more than playable on this motherboard with a good video card. Surprisingly, the onboard video managed to complete this benchmark, though the visual quality and obviously the frame rate left a lot to be desired.
