The bottom of the Acer Ferrari 4005 WLMi is fairly busy as you might
expect.

In addition to another exhaust vent for the hot running
processor, the hatches covering the hard drive, memory and mini-PCI slots are
all here. All three hatches are secured with a pair of tiny phillips screws and
can be easily opened.

There are two memory slots, both of which are occupied
with 512MB DDR-333 SO-DIMMs from the memory company Nanya, for a total 1GB
PC-2700 DDR. The 100GB 2.5" hard drive sits in a simple metal rack and
could be easily removed and replaced if necessary. The mini-PCI slot holds a
Broadcom-based 802.11G wireless network card which is not intended to be
user-serviceable.

 The
battery lock is also located on the underside of the laptop, and the
slot-loading DVD burner can be removed from the system using a second lock. At
the moment Acer does not appear to offer any optional drives, or
CDROM-sized extra battery packs that we are aware of.
