Unreal Tournament 2004 is the sequel to the highly popular UT2003 and uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology. Unreal Tournament 2004 employs the use of Vertex and Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a DirectX 9 videocard to you plan to play competitively.

Unfortunately UT2004 did not play nicely with Athlon64 X2 4800+ for an unknown reason. During testing various demos ran just fine however as you can see results recorded were all over the place.

Doom 3	Source: id Software

Doom 3 is the most advanced OpenGL game to date, it takes advantage of the latest videocard technology and pushes the processing power of the CPU to its absolute limits. At its highest setting Ultra quality, texture sizes pass the 500MB mark which means even tomorrows videocards will have a hard time running everything. The framerates in the game itself are locked at 60 fps so anything above that point is wasted. Each test is run three times and with the third run being recorded.

In our final benchmark it is no surprise to see the Athlon64 systems wipe the floor with the Intel systems. While Doom3 is a recent title, its programmers obviously did not make it compatible with SMP (dual CPU) system. Gamers really should not focus on dual core CPUs right now, there's just no reason too because games don't see any advantages.
