It's great to see how individual memory stacks up against one another under stock configuration, but we're also going to show how they stack up to each other when overclocked. The results are listed below for some of the recent memory to cross PCSTATS' test bench. All memory was tested at its most lax timings as well as its most aggressive. In terms of best overall overclocking performance, PCStats currently gives more weight to the combination of moderately high speeds and low latencies (2-2-2-5) than high speeds at the expense of latency timings.

The OCZ PC 3500 Gold GX does very well in the low latency tests and 500 MHz with 2-2-2-5 timings is awesome. Lowering the timings does not allow the OCZ memory to clock much higher.

Definitely worthy of its "Gamer" Title...

Gamers demand the best, and those of you who do not want to spend a lot of time tweaking will like OCZ's new PC3500 Gold GX edition memory. Most games require quick access between the processor and memory and the PC3500 Gold GX is rated to run at 217 MHz with 2-2-2-5 timings.

With a retail price of $221 CDN ($187 US), the OCZ PC3500 Gold GX memory is actually quite moderately priced. The memory features a life time warranty and I like how OCZ has a toll free 1-800 number for users to call about problems. Forum and email support is great but useless if your PC is down. ;-)

The stock performance of the OCZ PC3500 Gold GX was good, and it teams up with an Athlon64 system very nicely. Those of you who want to push the memory a bit, with 3.2V we were able to run the memory at a blistering 250 MHz while keeping 2-2-2-5 timings! We saw a decent performance boost due simply to the increased motherboard/memory combination.

There is not much to complain about with this memory, if you are looking for some good stuff, OCZ can deliver.
