Pure 32-Bit Benchmarks: PCMark05

Futuremark PCMark05 Source: FutureMark

PCMark05 is a premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance of the latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home usage.

PCMark05 definitely loves the Intel Pentium D 940 processor judging by the overall benchmark results. The CPU score sub-test results are much closer between each of the test processors that what we expected. In this respect, all CPUs fair pretty evenly, although the Athlon64 FX-62 and its abundance of L2 cache certainly present it with a small lead.
