The PCI Express bridge connector between each "videocard" is keyed so it only inserts one way, keep that in mind if you decide to take apart the NX7950GX2 for an occasional dust cleaning. The heatsink retention screws for first card are accessed from the back of the videocard, so if you want to clean either heatsink you must take the entire MSI NX7950GX2 videocard apart. Note that the first portion does not have the PCI Express x16 connector.

The second half of the GeForce 7950GX2 videocard lacks the video outputs, but has an SLI connector and the PCI Express x16 card contacts. The extra power plug is fixed to the other half of the 7950GX2 PCM. MSI are using a reference card built by nVidia as you can see by the nVidia-branded logos on the VGA heatsink and fan.

With the heatsink removed we have a clearer look at the nVidia Geforce 7950GX2 GPU. The videocard's heatsinks each come in contact with the GeForce 7950GX2 core and the eight GDDR3 BGA memory modules. If you feel your videocard is running too hot and want to know the temperatures, nVidia nTune 5 can read temperatures from both GPU cores. Note that 70+ degree Celsius temperatures are normal.

Here's a close look at the bridge connector used between each half of the MSI NX7950GX2 videocard. This not the same as the kinds of cards which used to found on SLI motherboards.
