The Core 2 Duo E8400 is again out of its league here. While the Core i7 920 and the Phenom II processors are able to avoid memory bottlenecks by placing the memory controller on the CPU die, the Core 2 Duo E8400 has to rely on the Intel X48 Express chipset for decent speeds.
