AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHz Socket AM3 6-Core Processor Review
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHz Socket AM3 6-Core Processor Review - PCSTATS
The first ever six-core socket AM3 processor from AMD has arrived to directly compete against Intel's robust Core i7 9-series 'Nehalem' chips. Code named 'Thuban', the new 3.2GHz AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor introduces with it a dynamic overclocking technology called TurboCore.

CPU Rendering Benchmarks: Cinebench R10, Bibble 5

Cinebench R10 Source: CINEBENCH

CINEBENCH is a real-world test suite that assesses your computer's performance capabilities. CINEBENCH runs several tests on your computer to measure the performance of the main processor under real world circumstances. The benchmark application makes use of up to 16 CPUs or CPU cores to render a photo-reaslistic image. The scene makes use of various CPU-intensive features such as reflection, ambient occlusion, area lights and procedural shaders. In the first run, the benchmark only uses one CPU (or CPU core), to ascertain a reference value. On computers that have multiple CPUs or CPU cores and on those who simulate multiple CPUs (via HyperThreading or similar technologies), MAXON CINEBENCH will run a second test using all available CPU power.

Higher results are best. Cinebench is multi-threaded.

With Turbocore enabled the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T is able to just beat the single-threaded performance of the Core i5 750. However Cinebench is a program that scales well to multiple cores, and with all six cores loaded not even the Core i7 920 (with hyperthreading enabled) can keep up with the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T. If you're doing a lot of 3D rendering and content creation, AMD's Phenom II X6 1090T is the chip to get.

Bibble 5.0 Source: Bibble Labs

Bibble 5 is a multi-threaded photographic workflow application that can be used to demonstrate the ability to scale work load across 4, 8, 16 or more processor cores. The basic process we will use for benchmarking is to convert a batch of 50 RAW image files from a digital SLR camera from their original RAW format to JPEG's at full resolution, using the applications default image settings.

Lower results are best.

Bibble also likes multiple cores, and can take advantage of all six of the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T's cores (which in turn leaves all cores at 3.2GHz). With six physical cores processing at once in a multi-threaded application, the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T is the fastest processor in this benchmark.
