FEAR is Sierra's latest first person shooter which relies heavily on DirectX 9 features. With its "Soft Shadows" feature enabled, even the fastest videocards run at a crawl, FEAR is definitely the new benchmark for future FPS games to follow.

FEAR also doesn't know what to do with six computing cores, but at least TurboCore is working in this benchmark by increasing CPU speed above 3.2GHz. The 4% average increase in scores isn't quite enough to make the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T the fastest chip in this test, that goes to the Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition.
