6GB Mp3 player and chilled server

SSI Computer Corp. MP3 player

SSI Computer is a Taiwanese company which has produced the above MP3 player, entitled the Neo 25. SSI are more likely known for their NEO 35 jukebox with drops into an empty stereo bay in just about any car - filling that MP3 need for the traveler. With this prototype, SSI has chosen to abandon the traditional Flash based memory system and rely upon a 6GB IBM Travelstar 2.5" hard drive. A 3.6V 1500mAh Lithium-Ion battery gives the unit approximately 6 hours of continuous use according to the company. Rounding off the features of this 255g unit, are a backlit LCD display, USB interface for data transfers from the PC, and an Infra Red remote control.

Cooler Master Chilled server

Cooler Master have managed to raise the bar yet again for heatsink manufacturers everywhere. Not only do they make some damn fine heatsinks, and the coolest (and equally expensive) all-aluminum cases out there, but they have now added active refrigerant into the equation. The ATC-310, with a price tag expected to be in the rage of one to three thousand dollars, incorporates an internal air conditioner of sorts. The unit chills all the internal compartments with cold air to kept the ambient temperatures inside the case low. RAID drives and processors can now bask in internal ambient temperatures at lower than external ambient temperatures. Expect to see this refrigerated server hit the market within the next six months.
