e-Testinglabs WinBench 99 and Productivity Benchmarks

E-Testing labs Benchmarks:

WinMark 99

Motherboard: Setting: Business Disk High-end Disk: Business Graphics: High-end Graphics:
MSI 850Pro2 17x100 5370 14400 516 1030
Intel D850GB 17x100 5430 15200 529 1020

WinBench 99 is a subsystem-level benchmark that measures the performance of a PC's graphics, disk, and video subsystems in a Windows environment. The benchmark consists of four tests; Business Disk, High end Disk, Business Graphics and High end Graphics. The D850GB scored above the MSI board for the most part here, but faltered slightly on the high-end graphics test.

3D WinBench 2000

Motherboard: Setting: Processor Test 3D WinMark2000
MSI 850Pro2 17x100 2.6 157
Intel D850GB 17x100 2.6 157

3D Winbench 2000 measures system-level 3D performance including processor and graphics subsystem tests. To understand the processor 3D performance, the benchmark suite includes the 3D WinBench 2000 processor test. This benchmark measures the CPU intensive portion of the 3D graphics pipeline and returns a small number indicating performance levels.

Content Creation Winstone 2001

Motherboard: Setting: Content Creation Winstone
MSI 850Pro2 17x100

Intel D850GB 17x100

Content Creation Winstone 2001 benchmarks a system by running multiple windows-based applications as a regular user might. While there are six applications which form the basis of this benchmark, the entire session is a single test, returning a single result. Content Creation runs Adobe Photoshop 5.5, Adobe Premiere 5.1, Macromedia Director 8.0, Macromedia Dreamweaver 3.0, Netscape Navigator 4.73 and Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 4.5 through a series of scripted activities that make the computer actually work. Again, the D850GB shows off a bit better than MSI's offering.

Business Winstone 2001

Motherboard: Setting: Business Winstones
MSI 850Pro2 17x100

Intel D850GB 17x100

Business Winstone is a system level application based benchmark for performance users. The benchmark measures a computers overall system capabilities by running an assortment of windows based applications. The key to Business Winstone is that it doesn't mearly mimic what these applications do, but rather it actually runs the applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time to complete these activities as the basis behind its performance rating. The Intel board hasn't let up in its small lead over the 850Pro2.
