Unreal Tournament 2003

Source: Epic

Unreal Tournament 2003 is the sequel to 1999's multiple 'Game of the Year' award winner. It uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology - where graphics, sound and game play are taken beyond the bleeding edge. Unreal Tournament 2003 employs the use of Vertex as well as Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a DirectX 8 videocard to get the most out of the game.

Athlon64 3200+ 275.2
Athlon64 3400+ 287.8
Athlon64 FX-51 293.2
Pentium4 3.2GHz Extreme Edition 262.7

Athlon64 FX-51 114.3
Pentium4 3.2GHz Extreme Edition 93.2
Pentium4 3.2GHz Northwood 84.5
Pentium4 3.2GHz Prescott 83.4

Prescott and Northwood post very similar numbers across the board in Unreal Tournament 2003. The Extreme Edition makes an even larger improvement still. But none of the Pentium 4 processors are able to hold off AMD's Athlon 64 lineup, which establishes a sizeable lead in both the Flyby and Botmatch tests.

SuperPI Source: SuperPI

SuperPI calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching benchmark. The benchmark is fairly diverse and allows the user to change the number of digits of PI that can be calculated from 16 Thousand to 32 Million. The benchmark, which uses 19 iterations in the test, is set 1 Million digits.

Lower numbers denote faster calculation times (seconds), and hence better performance.

Processor Seconds Ranking
Athlon64 3200+ 43
Athlon64 3400+ 40
Athlon64 FX-51 37
Pentium4 3.2GHz Extreme Edition 41
Pentium4 3.2GHz Northwood 45
Pentium4 3.2GHz Prescott 43

Lower scores are better here, and the Prescott gains a five percent advantage over the Northwood core. The Pentium 4 Extreme Edition picks up an extra five percent, putting it roughly on par with the Athlon 64 3400+. AMD's Athlon 64 FX-51 takes the top spot, finishing the test in 37 seconds.
