Mol Dyn: Molecular Dynamics is a method for simulating the thermodynamic behaviour of materials using their forces, velocities, and positions.

Primordia: This code calculates the Quantum Mechanical Hartree-Fock Orbitals for each electron in any element of the periodic table.

Pretty amazing that an older processor like the AthlonXP 3200+ can score so well in these benchmarks. The Socket 775 Pentium 4 does quite well in both benchmarks, especially in Primordia.

The tool is set to deliver accurate benchmarks by testing not only a computer's raw processing speed but also all other areas that affect system performance such as OpenGL, multithreading, and multiprocessors

This benchmark shows that the whole Socket 775 platform has good power and potential. The 540 chip competed well with the technologically superior Athlon 64 3200+ processor here.
