SYSmark 2004 is BAPCo's latest revision of the mainstream office productivity and Internet content creation benchmark used to characterize the performance of the business client. It is based on a foundation of extensive research into emerging usage models and computing trends and incorporates the latest benchmarking methodologies to evaluate platform technologies. SYSmark 2004 contains scientifically designed workloads that represent the range of activities that an office productivity or Internet content creation work may encounter. In SYSMark2004 the 2.0GHz AMD Sempron 3600+ processor offers very competitive results for its price. In fact, the Sempron 3600+'s performance is close to the Intel Pentium D 840/940 models in several of these Sysmark tests yet the Pentium D's are about three times more expensive. Overall the Sempron 3600+ does not trail the Athlon64 4000+ by much in these very office oriented and content creation benchmarks. In a workstation environment where the user is mainly working with 2D applications, creating word documents, surfing the web, checking email, etc. the AMD Sempron 3600+ is perfectly suited.
