Test System Specs and benchmarks

Traditionally PCSTATS would run videocard overclocking tests here, but the PowerColor X1550 512MB is not recognized by the usual overclocking utilities we rely on so these tests were not conducted.

3DMark05 is best suited for the latest generation of DirectX9.0 graphics cards. It is the first benchmark to require a DirectX9.0 compliant hardware with support for Pixel Shaders 2.0 or higher! By combining high quality 3D tests, CPU tests, feature tests, image quality tools, and much more, 3DMark05 is a premium benchmark for evaluating the latest generation of gaming hardware.

All things considered the PowerColor X1550 512MB does not perform too poorly in 3DMark05. It's slow, but 3DMark indicates that it could provide decent framerates at low resolutions.

3DMark06 is much tougher on the PowerColor X1550 512MB videocard. Keep in mind that this solution is intended for the office worker/casual gamer who wants Windows Vista compatibility. If you want to play games smoother, go with a higher end videocard.
