AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHz Socket AM3 6-Core Processor Review
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHz Socket AM3 6-Core Processor Review - PCSTATS
The first ever six-core socket AM3 processor from AMD has arrived to directly compete against Intel's robust Core i7 9-series 'Nehalem' chips. Code named 'Thuban', the new 3.2GHz AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor introduces with it a dynamic overclocking technology called TurboCore.

CPU Calculation Benchmarks: ScienceMark2.3, WinRAR

ScienceMark 2.3 Source: ScienceMark

Mol Dyn: Molecular Dynamics is a method for simulating the thermodynamic behaviour of materials using their forces, velocities, and positions. Most important of the afore mentioned is the force. Primordia: This code calculates the Quantum Mechanical Hartree-Fock Orbital for each electron in any element of the periodic table Lower times indicate better results.

Lower calculation times are better.

Since this is a dual-core benchmark, scaling here can take advantage of AMD's TurboCore feature. With an average performance boost of around 11%. With TurboCore enabled the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T is the fastest processor in the Primordia test, and is just behind the Intel Core i7 and Core i5 processors in the Mol Dyn benchmark.

WinRAR Internal Benchmark Source: RARLabs

This command generates random data, which contain specially introduced redundancy increasing load to processor and memory. Then data are passed through RAR compression and decompression algorithms and output of decompression algorithm is compared with source data. If any difference found, WinRAR reports "Errors found - Yes" in the command window. Also WinRAR displays a size of processed data and compression speed, current and resulting, in kilobytes per second. You may use the resulting speed value to compare RAR performance in different conditions.

Higher results are better.

WinRAR scales to stress all processor cores, so the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T stays at a maximum speed of 3.2GHz and achieves the same results whether TurboCore is enabled or disabled. With six cores to work with, the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T manages to best the Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition even though the latter has a faster native clock speed.
