The Gigabyte GA-X79S-UP5 Wifi motherboard built on the Intel X79 Chipset for socket LGA2011 processors was also on display at Computex 2012. This workstation class platform supports 8 SAS devices and Ultra Durable 5 technology incorporating the new IR3550 PowIRstage single package design motherboard VRM. This IC replaces older discreet MOSFET circuit architectures and lowers board temperatures significantly.

I like the new power switches Gigabyte have begun adding to their high end motherboards, makes out of the box tweaking so much easier.

Powered USB ports are handy for charging smart phones, the Gigabyte GA-X79S-UP5 Wifi motherboard has one USB port that will continue to recharge such devices when the rest of the computer is off.
