Windows 98 Performance

The benchmarks below were run a minimum of three times, and the best 3 scores were averaged. I used SiSoft Sandra 99 Professional and Winbench 99 to measure subsystem performance, Quake 3 Test and Quake 2 to measure overall system performance.

Test System Configuration

Processor: Single Intel Celeron 333A @ 500Mhz
Memory: 64 Megs PC-100 SDRAM
Hard Disk Drive: IBM Deskstar 14GXP 10.1 Gig
Video Card: 3dfx Voodoo 3 2000 AGP
Operating System: Windows 98

Nothing special on the benchmarks above. Just your run of the mill results. Under Windows 98 this board will perform just like a single processor motherboard. If you refer back to the ABIT BE6 benchmarks you will see that the results are similar with the BE6 having a slight advantage because of the higher processor speed (515 Mhz). The only thing that surprised me was the slight performance edge the system had running Quake 3 Test in comparison with Quake II. What's up with that? The best explanation I can think of for that, is the fact that the Quake II Crusher time demo was designed to show the worst possible scenario in the game thus in effect putting the most stress on the processor, where the Q3 time demo was not. Okay, let's get to the juicy stuff.
