For this review I've decided to add a whole new set of gaming benchmarks into the forey - if you would like to see me continue using these gaming benchmarks then drop me a quick email: colin.sun@pcstats.com and let me know.

Also, for this review I will only be benchmarking the two KK266 boards at 152 MHz and 168 MHz bus speeds. If you want 'standard' performance just get the KK266. If you want that 'extra' level of performance in everything you use for your computer, you will undoubtedly be overclocking the KK266Plus into the stratosphere. Hence, the benchmarks are about to reflect that little bit of zen and the art of overclocking philosophy.

E-Testing labs Benchmarks:

WinMark 99

Motherboard: Setting: Business Disk High-end Disk: Business Graphics: High-end Graphics:
KK266Plus 9x168 6710 18200 704 2010
KK266Plus 10x152 6490 17200 668 1950
KK266-R 9x168 6700 18000 705 2010
KK266-R 10x152 6500 17200 670 1960

WinBench 99 is a subsystem-level benchmark that measures the performance of a PC's graphics, disk, and video subsystems in a Windows environment. The benchmark consists of four tests; Business Disk, High end Disk, Business Graphics and High end Graphics

Content Creation Winstone 2001

Motherboard: Setting: Content Creation Winstone
KK266Plus 9x168
61.1 Winstone Units
KK266Plus 10x152
58.3 Winstone Units
KK266-R 9x168
61 Winstone Units
KK266-R 10x152
58.5 Winstone Units

Content Creation Winstone 2001 benchmarks a system by running multiple windows-based applications as a regular user might. While there are six applications which form the basis of this benchmark, the entire session is a single test, returning a single result. Content Creation runs Adobe Photoshop 5.5, Adobe Premiere 5.1, Macromedia Director 8.0, Macromedia Dreamweaver 3.0, Netscape Navigator 4.73 and Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 4.5 through a series of scripted activities that make the computer actually work.

These are purely business benchmarks. Yes it's nice to be faster however you don't need a 1.5 GHz system running at a 150-168 MHz bus let alone a 1 GHz system to use business applications. 100% of the time, the applications are waiting for user intervention. The higher the score, the faster Microsoft Word loads!
