Conclusions

Offices and small businesses want printers that are fast, reliable and able to handle what ever documents employees throw at it. Underpowered printers, and memory shortages cause delays and that impacts worker productivity (okay I'm starting to sound like a corporate boss here). But if you think about it you'll agree, there is nothing worse than a printer that doesn't want to print when you desperately need a document. No one want to fiddle with a printer that can't handle printing out a large size PDF, or that takes 20 minutes per page because it doesn't have the right amount of memory.

Good printers simply need to be fast, reliable and easy to configure. The Samsung ML-7300N has all of these traits and has a small window of upgradeability built into it as well. With a capacity for 21 pages per minute on average (barring transfer times to the printer over the network) the ML-7300N is one of the fastest laser printers we've seen here, and one that thankfully doesn't weigh a ton.

With support for fully duplexing and additional paper trays the ML-7300N is a versatile laser printer for a small business, or a moderate sized office. The print server software Samsung include with the ML-7300N is easy to configure and versatile enough to handle Linux, Mac and Windows environments. Additional features like multiple pages on one sheet of paper, poster printing and watermarks only add to the level of versatility. With great print quality and a cost-per-page of about $0.018 the ML-7300N is economically sensitive, especially when compared to Ink Jet printers.

All in all, we are very pleased with the ML-7300Ns printer. Given that it has been able to shrug off the heavy work load we've been thrown at it for the past few weeks (trial by regular office use), it would seem to be a good investment for mid-level large office printing requirements.
