Benchmarks: SuperPI, Sandra 2002

SuperPI Source: SuperPI

SuperPI calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching benchmark. The benchmark is fairly diverse and allows the user to change the number of digits of PI that can be calculated from 16 Thousand to 32 Million. The benchmark, which uses 19 iterations in the test, is set 1 Million digits.

Lower numbers denote faster calculation times (seconds), and hence, better performance.

Super PI (1 Million digits) Benchmark Results (Lower is better)
Processor Seconds Ranking
1. 1.66 GHz (T-Bred) 64
2. 2 GHz (T-Bred) 57
3. 2.25 GHz (T-Bred) 50

Here we see the awesome FPU power of the Athlon processor. 50 seconds in SuperPi is an excellent time!

Sisoft Sandra 2002 Pro Source: Sandra

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system and individual components. The numbers taken though are again, purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance. Higher numbers represent better performance.

Multimedia Benchmark

1a. Integer SSE - 2 GHz (T-Bred) 11056 it/s
1b. Integer SSE - 2.25 GHz (T-Bred) 12488 it/s
2a. Floating-Point SSE - 2 GHz (T-Bred) 12289 it/s

Floating-Point SSE - 2.25 GHz (T-Bred)

13878 it/s

CPU Benchmark

3a. Dhrystone ALU - 2 GHz (T-Bred) 5540 MIPS
3b. Dhrystone ALU - 2.25 GHz (T-Bred) 6267 MIPS
4a. Whetstone FPU - 2 GHz (T-Bred) 2790 MFLOPS
4b. Whetstone FPU - 2.25 GHz (T-Bred) 3132 MFLOPS

Memory Benchmark

5a. Integer ALU - 2 GHz (T-Bred) 2066 MB/s
5b. Integer ALU - 2.25 GHz (T-Bred) 2326 MB/s
6a. Float FPU - 2 GHz (T-Bred) 2010 MB/s
6b. Float FPU - 2.25 GHz (T-Bred) 2258 MB/s

I'm not usually a big fan of Sandra scores, but they certainly show the AthlonXP 2400+ in good light. Those multimedia and CPU scores are the highest I've ever seen!
