We all know how fast the nForce2/Radeon 9700 Pro is, and for this review it was not used. Our tests with the Epox 8RGA+ are based entirely on the use of the integrated GeForce4 MX GPU.

SysMark2002 is more of an extension of SysMark2001 rather then a whole new benchmark. The applications used during testing have been updated and most importantly for AMD users, the new SysMark2002 uses the Windows Media Encoder 7.1 which supports the AthlonXP's SSE instructions.

BapCo SysMark 2002 Benchmark Results
Internet Content (FSB/Memory) Sysmarks Ranking
1. 8RDA+ - 166/333 325
2. 8RGA+ - 166/333 317
3. 8RGA+ - 200/400 345

Office Productivity (FSB/Memory)

1. 8RDA+ - 166/333 198
2. 8RGA+ - 166/333 189
3. 8RGA+ - 200/400 195

At stock it seems the 8RGA+ lags behind the 8RDA+ a bit both Internet Content and Office Productivity. This is most likely due to the integrated GeForce4MX.

Content Creation Winstone 2002 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when running top, Windows-based, 32-bit, content creation applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, or Windows XP.

Business Winstone 2002 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when running today's top-selling Windows-based 32-bit applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000 (SP6 or later), Windows Me, or Windows XP. Business Winstone doesn't mimic what these packages do; it runs real applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC takes to complete those activities to produce its performance scores.

BapCo SysMark 2002 Benchmark Results
Content Content (FSB/Memory) Score Ranking
1. 8RDA+ - 166/333 33.2
2. 8RGA+ - 166/333 32.6
3. 8RGA+ - 200/400 34.3

Business Winstone (FSB/Memory)

1. 8RDA+ - 166/333 47.1
2. 8RGA+ - 166/333 45.5
3. 8RGA+ - 200/400 46.5

Like we saw in SysMark2002, the 8RGA+ at stock speeds is a tad slower then the 8RDA+ because of the integrated video. Overclocking does boost the 8RGA+'s performance higher then the 8RDA+ in Content Creation but not in Business Winstone.
