Benchmarks: Business Winstone 2004, SiSoft Sandra 2005, PCMark04

Winstone 2004 Source: Zdnet

Business Winstone 2004 runs real applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC takes to complete these activities to produce its performance scores.

Business Winstone 2004
Memory: Points Ranking
2x 512MB Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL PRO (200/400) 31.5
2x 512MB Centon GEMiNi PC3200 (200/400) 32.3
2x 512MB Centon GEMiNi PC3200 (246/492) 33.6

We are actually surprised to see the Centon GEMiNi PC3200 perform faster than the Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL PRO at stock speeds! Overclocking does give a slight boost, though the difference in actual processor speed was minimal.

SiSoft Sandra 2004 Source:Sandra

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system as well as the individual components. The results are also purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

Sisoft Sandra 2004 Benchmark Results
Memory Integer SSE2: Float SSE2:
2x 512MB Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL PRO (200/400) 6057 6026
2x 512MB Centon GEMiNi PC3200 (200/400) 6058 6026
2x 512MB Centon GEMiNi PC3200 (246/492) 6932 6851

At stock speeds the Corsair and Centon memory have the same bandwidth which is not surprising. Overclocked, the memory falls just short of the 7k barrier but that's not bad at all.

PCMark04 Source: FutureMark

The latest version of the popular PCMark series, PCMark04 is an application-based benchmark and a premium tool for measuring overall PC performance. It uses portions of real applications instead of including whole applications or using specifically created code. This allows PCMark04 to maintain a smaller installation size while still giving accurate results.

PCMark04
Memory: Points Ranking
2x 512MB Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL PRO (200/400) 5655
2x 512MB Centon GEMiNi PC3200 (200/400) 5626
2x 512MB Centon GEMiNi PC3200 (246/492) 6348

The stock PCMark04 scores are very nice indeed, and it's good to see that Centon is doing well so far with its first attempt at enthusiast-grade memory.
