Albatron Trinity GeForce 6600

The third in this roundups' trinity of Albatron cards is, appropriately enough, the Albatron Trinity GeForce 6600. This PCI Express card uses the Geforce 6600 GPU and packs the standard 128MB of memory in eight 5ns Hynix modules. The card is clocked at 306MHz core and 500MHz memory, essentially stock speed for the 6600.

The small heatsink/fan combo cools the core effectively and virtually silently, but does not cover the memory modules. Albatron has not included an MIO connector for SLI as it did on the Trinity 6600U card also included in this roundup. Since SLI is not supposed to work with the 6600 GPU, this is not really surprising. The front of the card sports the usual trio of VGA,DVI and S-video/breakout connectors.

The Albatron Trinity GeForce 6600 came with the same sparse bundle as the other Albatron cards in our roundup... A simple breakout box is included which features component, S-Video and composite connectors. The software is comprised of WinDVD/WinDVD Creator, an old five-game demo CD and Arx Fatalis. Again no DVI-converter, which continues to be an annoyance.

Overclocking: The core of the Albatron Trinity GeForce 6600 was able to overclock all the way up to 437MHz, which is a very impressive speed for a 6600-based card. The memory did not fare so well, dropping off at a just 537MHz.
