Benchmarks: SYSmark 2004

SYSmark2004 Source: Bapco

SYSmark 2004 is BAPCo's latest revision of the mainstream office productivity and Internet content creation benchmark used to characterize the performance of the business client. It is based on a foundation of extensive research into emerging usage models and computing trends and incorporates the latest benchmarking methodologies to evaluate platform technologies. SYSmark 2004 contains scientifically designed workloads that represent the range of activities that an office productivity or Internet content creation work may encounter. In addition to extensive validation across multiple platforms, users can be sure of a consistent and reliable performance comparison.

We were unable to complete the office productivity section of the Sysmark 2004 benchmark with the Gigabyte GA-8I945P Pro. The test system consistently halted on the Internet Explorer portion of the benchmark and refused to continue. We're currently searching for a resolution to this issue.

For some reason, the Gigabyte GA-8I945P was unable to complete the second half of Sysmark - an error we're chalking up to Bapco. While obviously the dual-processor nature of the Pentium D 840 chip we used in testing this board had a lot to do with these scores, it's great to see that a mainstream board can still excel with this new processor. It's been a long time since we saw any sort of separation between systems in Sysmark 2004, so this is a refreshing start for the GA-8I945P Pro.
