We both liked and disliked the styling of the 3D Aurora's front. We liked the
door, both for its clean styling and easy operation. We were not quite so fond
of the front vent at the bottom. It protrudes a bit far out for our liking and
the blue plastic slab above it is unnecessary and detracts from the clean lines
of the case.
panel lock is actually on the left side of the front bezel and cannot be seen
from the front of the case. The same goes for the LED indicators and
'front' USB, audio and IEE1394 ports. This decision makes the front appear
cleaner, but also makes the LEDs hard to read and the ports hard to reach.
One of the 120mm fans is mounted behind the bezel and draws air into the case
through the vent.
side panel features a lockable latch mechanism and a ventilation grill with a
smaller plastic grill mounted inside it to filter out larger particles. We
loved the styling of this panel, but the lock mechanism does detract slightly
from its appearance. In operation, the latch clamps to the rear of the
case, preventing the side panel from being opened. When the latch is
operated, the panel is released at the back, allowing it to be opened
smoothly. This system works well.
