The Matrox DualHead2Go is a dead simple, little black
box. There are three 15-pin analog D-sub video jacks, one 5V 2A DC power socket
and a status LED. There is no power button to
fuss with, but keep in mind
that the manufacturer recommends all video cables be connected before powering the unit
The DualHead2Go connects via a set of analog video outputs to two
external monitors. A single 24" long analog video cable attaches to the host computer.
The top of the unit is bare except for the DualHead2Go product name and some cooling
vents. The base is vented as well, with portions of the aluminum chassis acting
as the heatsink for the digital-to-analog converters inside.

DualHead2Go Analog Edition gives us a
sneak preview of what's to come... The words 'Analog Edition' make it pretty clear that
Matrox is already
planning a digital version of the DualHead2Go for release at some point
in the future. Looking at the circuit board confirms that hunch.
