Corsair Twin2X2048-6400C4 Memory Review
Corsair Twin2X2048-6400C4 Memory Review - PCSTATS
When running in dual channel mode, the Corsair Twin2X2048-6400C4 provides 12.8GB/s worth of memory bandwidth which happens to be exactly what the dual core Socket AM2 Athlon64 X2/FX processors need. What a coincidence.

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system as well as the individual components. The results are also purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

Sisoft Sandra 2005 Benchmark Results
Memory Integer SSE2: Float SSE2:
2x 1024MB Super Talent T800UX2GC4 (200/800) 7314 7262
2x 1024MB Patriot PDC22G800+XBLK (200/800) 7318 7236
2x 1024MB Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4 (200/800) 7334 7251
2x 1024MB Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4 (254/1008) 7466 7381

Memory bandwidth numbers from the Socket AM2 platform are higher than what the Pentium D could do even with the same memory. Bandwidth is about 1.3GB/s higher than what a Socket 939 Athlon64 gets with conventional DDR memory.

PCMark05 is a premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance of the latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home usage.

2x 1024MB Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4 (254/1008) 6615

2x 1024MB Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4 (254/1008) 5347

PCMark05 numbers are pretty good, the overall score does not move much because the CPU speed is actually clocked near stock. The memory score gets a slight boost which is nice to see.

3DMark05 Source: FutureMark

3DMark05 is best suited for the latest generation of DirectX9.0 graphics cards. It is the first benchmark to require a DirectX9.0 compliant hardware with support for Pixel Shaders 2.0 or higher! By combining high quality 3D tests, CPU tests, feature tests, image quality tools, and much more, 3DMark05 is a premium benchmark for evaluating the latest generation of gaming hardware.

2x 1024MB Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4 (254/1008) 8230

3DMark05's overall number stays the same but overclocking the memory allows the setup to break 8000 points with a single GeForce 7800GTX which is pretty good. The CPU score jumps nicely due to the higher bandwidth which is great to see.
