Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 Intel P35 Motherboard Review

Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 Intel P35 Motherboard Review - PCSTATS
Abstract: The new mainstream Intel P35 Express Northbridge looks quite a lot like Intel's old P965 series chipset, but with two very major inclusions; support for 1333 MHz Front Side Bus and official support for DDR3 RAM.

Motherboard Benchmarks: SiSoft Sandra, Super Pi, PCMark05

SiSoft Sandra 2005 Source: Sandra

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system as well as the individual components. The results are also purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

The Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 performs fairly well here in SiSoft Sandra 2007. The processor numbers are in line with what we expect, and as expected with the faster clocked memory, there is an increase in memory bandwidth.

Super Pi Mod 1.5 Source: SuperPI

SuperPI calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching benchmark. The program allows the user to change the number of digits of PI that can be calculated from 16 thousand to 32 million. Our benchmark is set to 1 Million digits and 19 iterations.

PCMark05 results mirror that of SiSoft Sandra, CPU performance is roughly the same but memory performance is slightly higher. Let's check out what 3D applications have to say about the added bandwidth from the P35 chipset. Games as always have the most to gain.
