Overclocking is alive and well! PCSTATS has all the

compiled below lists the highest overclocked Front Side Bus speeds we were able
to achieve while maintaining 100% stability.
The Asus BLITZ Formula motherboard is the fastest Intel
Core 2 Duo motherboard we've overclocked on the Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 processor
thus far. PCSTATS overclocked the BLITZ Formula to an impressive 535 MHz
FSB!
Top of the line motherboard
for sure!
With its BLITZ series of motherboards, Asus
definitely raises the bar for every manufacturer out there. The Asus BLITZ
Formula motherboard is not just fancy, it's also loaded with integrated features
and fast. This board ships with a cool game and whole collection of cooling
goodies! Whether you'll find them useful or not is anyone's guess, but it's nice
to see a product with so much to offer.
With a retail price of $309 CDN ($297 USD, £146 GBP), the Asus BLITZ Formula
motherboard is certainly one expensive motherboard. Still when you consider the
BLITZ Formula comes with the game STALKER and is watercooling compatible by
default, you know the motherboard will be sweet. It's definitely a motherboard I
would be considering for my personal rig...
From using the Asus BLITZ Formula motherboard, the
design feels like it was done by a computer enthusiast. Everything from the
layout of the expansion slots, the many USB 2.0 slots on the rear I/O and drive
connector positioning is in the absolute best spot. Asus hasn't done anything
half-assed here, and it shows. It's great how Asus includes a full version of
3DMark06 and the game STALKER with the motherboard. Potential users of this
motherboard are probably performance oriented, and both applications will
definitely keep you entertained for quite some time.
The Asus BLITZ Formula motherboard is based on Intel's
mainstream P35 Express chipset and let me tell you, this thing is blistering
fast. It came in first spot in every test that we threw at it from SYSMark2004
to 3DMark and Doom 3! Workstation to gaming, this motherboard does it all with a
lot of speed to spare. Just a note, we didn't test with CrossFire because, well
it's not readily available and we no longer have CrossFire capable videocards to
test with. No matter, equip the BLITZ Formula with one top of the line videocard
and you'll be happy with the motherboard's performance.
The Asus BIOS is very
powerful and if you're not careful, damaging your hardware is definitely
possible. Don't jack up the voltages too high when you're overclocking. Better
to swallow your pride a bit than burn out a processor (I've done that, trust me
it's not fun).
Of course for the experienced overclocker, the powerful
BIOS in the Asus BLITZ Formula will allow the board to absolutely fly. This
board was able to hit 535 MHz FSB and that's one of the fastest of any Intel
motherboard we've tested to date! If overclocking is your thing, the BLITZ
Formula should be one of the first motherboards you consider!
The Asus BLITZ Formula is definitely a very attractive
motherboard that's fully loaded but its price will keep it away from all but the
most hardcore of users. Pity since it's a motherboard that all would love to
use, that's for sure!
